Make you characters... BIG!

Seriously people! Your characters are not mindless nulls who stand around doing nothing until and event strikes up. Screw the event! Make your character the event! Give him a personality. Give him goals and dreams. Nothing to do? Walk up to another character and giggle with glee as their personalities clash. Perhaps you will get along. You might gain a powerful ally, or an obedient minion. See a pretty girl? If you play your cards right you may spark romance. Get a bad hand? Well my unfortunate friend, your rejection will be the gossip of the ship. Your pain may be the amusement of your comrades. Perhaps... your character is struggling with his sanity, and is about to snap.

You see, there is more to RP than action. There is the complex mental struggles each and every character faces. Make it a fun experience for all of us and show us just how interesting your character can be.
